Nervous Breakdown Symptoms
We’ve all heard of nervous breakdowns, but what is a nervous breakdown and what are the nervous breakdown symptoms?
The most common nervous breakdown symptoms are the feeling that your mind is spinning out of control. You thoughts become a jumble and they all blur together into one giant mess. You can’t cope with even the simplest concept and the most mundane of daily tasks seems impossible.
This is a terrifying concept. However, the term “nervous breakdown” is not a medically acknowledged phrase. The term is more often used to describe the feelings one is going through rather than the actual medical condition.
Relieve Nervous Breakdowns and Panic Attacks
Nervous breakdown symptoms include elevated stress, which causes a racing heart and excessive sweating. Your thoughts start start to spiral out of control. In short, you have entered a fight-or-flight mindset. The danger your body is preparing for never materializes, though and you are left with all the pent up energy and apprehension. The adrenal glands of the body kick into high gear and eventually get fatigued.
The adrenal glands are responsible for managing the levels of over 50 hormones in our body. These hormones regulate energy, blood sugar, and blood pressure. In effect, our adrenal glands effect our longevity. The healthier our system is, the longer we will generally live.
If your adrenal glands are constantly stressed, they can’t do their job very effectively. You’ll find that you have difficulty focusing, your energy will drop, and you’ll have difficulty dealing with the stresses of everyday life.
Further adrenal fatigue and nervous breakdown symptoms include less sex drive, depression, weakness, dizziness and lightheaded-ness, cravings for high-fat and high-sodium foods, and excessive tiredness even after a full night’s rest.
Nervous breakdowns are similar to panic and anxiety attacks. They should be treated in much the same way. Take time to have fun and laugh, get plenty of rest, try to stay positive and upbeat, reduce sources of stress, eat regular and healthy meals, and engage in activities that you find relaxing and rejuvenating. Try reconnecting with a passion or hobby that you love.
It may take some time for you to recover fully, so don’t expect immediate results. If you can try to find a few months of time to rest and recuperate and let the nervous breakdown symptoms begin to subside.
